Thambar

Just as the original, the new Thambar-M 90 f/2.2 is a soft focus lens which creates dreamily romantic photos with a unique bokeh, which is created by undercorrected spherical aberrations. Shooting wide open at f/2.2 or f/2.4 increases the soft focus effect. Using the included center spot filter results in an even more intense soft focus glow.

I love the bokeh !

  1. Eckart,
My favorite ‘M’ mount lenses (actually L39 screw mount used with an M mount adapter) are all by Carl Zeiss Jenna. Sonar 50m f2, Triotar 135 f4 and the Bigon f2.8 35 m lens. Made during the war years, these all have the special ‘character’ that you speak of.

I still don’t have the M10! I have often thought about getting one for my personal work, but am not sure I would use it enough to justify the expense.

Beautiful shot of the Balvenie scotch. I just showed my wife the price of this bottle. She said that I have to stop reading your blog! =)

    Nice post as always.

  2. Norman,
Your wife is right. Maybe you tell her I got it as a duty free purchase, so very reasonable 😋. The Balvenie is so tasty, great drink! I put a glass on your and your wife´s health!
