In the 60ies Decca made some amazing Half Speed Mastered Records using their famous Mono cutterhead.
Since then many attempts were started but in the end failed to meet the masses audience due to marketing problems.
Now Abbey Road Studies is bringing back that technology which improves lower frequencies and headroom up to 30.000 Hz. The quality is excellent.

I find the Abbey Road 1/2 speed Master of the eponymous Blind Faith LP to be absolutely awful compared to a UK or US first pressing. To each their own I suppose.

The mastering works may be different dependent on the engineer and the source. Sometimes the engineer accepts low quality recordings which usually fails in the end when remastering. I heard differences between the Abba masterings. Voulez Vous was excellent, other Abba masterings not as good as this one.
You will enjoy the Police masterings. They are just excellent!
