At Munich High End in May this year I was surprised about the return of the record shops. In 2022 I saw only a few sellers of records but more reel to reel producing companies. As well as today in 2023, quite some tapes, especially at demonstration events.

In the end, we all know, a 1st copy and even a good made 2nd one of the master tape is superior to a record of the same source. 

Of course it is expensive, and you do not have the variety that the vinyl business is offering. Nevertheless if you ever had the chance to listen to a good master tape copy you may be enthused about the quietness, the relaxed mood and the richness of the sound.

Some tape-shops were selling a unit for 600 Euro, like the Italian brand  Himiolla. I am not sure if this is justified, whatever the quality of the tape might be. I bought a Russian tape about modern Balalaika-music for 250. A wonderful recording! Not the typical traditional music, it is more Pop- and Jazz oriented.
