my new Goldfinger:

as it happens to be: when you are mounting many cartridges as I do you accidentally touch the needle and you are going for a retip (here: for rebuild).

in the case of the Goldfinger V2 we decided to upgrade to the best Goldfinger standard, the V2.1. Which means we got a new generator, a new Bor-stylus carrier with new gold spools, the actual version of the carrier with optimised angle of the glued diamond as with the Goldfinger Statement V2.1

On top of it the original body design was trimmed (polishing the surface design).

I am now testing the cart in my SAEC WE-8000 on the Continuum table going to the Zanden phono stage (high output connection termination).

I have to say Thank You to the Clearaudio team. They were very much supporting and handled my case in an excellent way. As the old founder of the company once said “If someone becomes my customer we will serve him for a life long relation”.

I should not complain as I have some of the finest carts ( e.g. Kondo IO-M, Lyra Titan / Ortofon 100 / Lyra Olympos / AS Palladian / AT Art1000 / Koetsu Coralstone / My Sonic Ultra Eminent Bc) but the Goldfinger V2.1 is a very special one! It transports the music in its finest way, dynamical but quiet and harmonised. My test sessions just started. Nevertheless I am relaxing & enjoying with Madeleine Peyroux – Let’s walk, Anouar Brahem – Barzakh, and Billie Eilish – Happier than ever.

When I put the vinyl of the Max Clouth Clan (www.maxclouth.com), a live direct to 2 track AAA record (by Studio & Konzert), on the Continuum I could really elaborate the fine qualities of the Goldfinger V2.1

Clearaudio developed a masterclass cartridge, improving and producing as a result of many optimisations en detail and of the sound quality by adjusting all necessary values. A 30 percent thinner 24 karat gold wire for the spools is part of the breakthrough as is the fixing of the gold mounting bracket for the magnetic block.

when you are listening to the sound of the Goldfinger V2.1 you will love the harmoniousness of the music. The atmosphere is such warm & clear with a kind of beautiful precision, never sharp and never hard. This cart deserves a good chain and excellent instruments around it. I may be happy to have that kind of system.

finally I put two Acetat Master Records of Supersense from Vienna on the table. What a sound. Extraordinary!!!
