I just received No 17 Acetat Pressing from Supersense, Sonny Rollins – On Impulse.

I had the chance to compare it with the Acoustic Sounds pressing of the same record.

The Acetat Pressing is fully centered (see image) while I had to center the Acoustic Sound pressing, coming with a non- centered hole. Would like to talk to the responsible pressing manager (!). So everyone running the Acoustic Sound pressing has to deal with this issue.
Guess you like to know what are the differences I detected?
While the Acoustic Sounds pressing is establishing all instruments, also the saxophone, on a similar loud level, the Supersense Acetat Pressing is presenting the instruments on a moderate soft level, similar to Reel to Reel recordings. It is much more natural and Sonny’s saxophone is played more lively and integrating into the combo. A definite result: Supersense 5 stars, Acoustic Sounds 3 stars.
