Zanden NOS tubes

On advice I replaced the tubes in my Zanden phono stage by using NOS tubes from the 60ies of the last century. cleaning the sockets should reduce the resistance, less noise is the result. Will show images after cleaning.

it is a mayor step forward!

the power supply received a NOS Telefunken EZ 81. Okay, more cleaning… 😂

this is a picture of the cleaning set:

  1. Utility compels me to ask why many of the components have what look like pieces of white paper atop them? Thank you and best wishes from London,UK. Alastair

    • Alastair,
It is a very good question. We all do not know what it is for, which supporting function the white paper has. I asked the technical departement of ZANDEN. Hope we will get an answer.

      • ZANDEN replied friendly:
It is RF noise absorption material sheet made in Japan.
We used it about 20 years ago.
Now we adopt another kind of material.
Such RF noise absorption material is useful to increase the performance of hifi products.
