R.I.P. – we have a loss of a good friend

we are deeply sorry to hear about the death of Stephan Götze who died yesterday in Oldenburg. He was a kind of genius in his company, Gecom GmbH, developing beautiful, but sometimes “of the road tools” in High End Audio too.

When I am listening to my Caeles -table with numerous improvements it is still my master table in combination with the modified Allnic H-5000 DHT (now on a H-8000 level) and the Kondo Ksl SUTs. I will never forget Stephan having arrived from Northern Germany in his old Jaguar carrying all my Caeles parts with him.

Stephan built up his airbearing table in my room. I was fascinated by his way of handling, never forgetting his recognizable hands 😳. I opted for a version without stands. With Dietrich Brakemeier I was able to mount a second tonearm, the only one Titan SPJ.

We exchanged the three air-dampers for which he later on developed an airlifting board. The airbearing Caeles needs a large vacuum compressor staying in another room.

I disagreed with him on the motor-concept and went to a two sided Sperling motor management system which drives the table perfectly.

Half a year ago I sold a Pink Floyd record – Dark Side of the moon (MFSL, UHQR) to him, he was quite happy with the unit. Stephan, my other Audio friends and me discussed so many issues on electrical stuff etc. He was also a member of the High End international developer community he visited many times with his gear.

On June, 24th – my birthday – he visited my blog the last time.

It is too early for our friend departing from the world !
