among my 9 phono lines (with 9 tonearms) I regard the Zanden as my “beautiful” phono stage among the four used stages. The Zanden is playing like it used to be a decade ago, of course in different settings. The company reinvented design and model in the last years.

it runs via Crystal Cable Dreamline from the Continuum into the Zanden, going via Audio Research 40 Anni into the Wavacs.

the 3D Cobra tonearm carries the Lyra “Olympus”, one of my favourite carts.

tube exchange. you also see the kitamurua kiden’s r-core transformer on the right side.

after having exchanged the tubes with CCCP 6H23P-EBs the sound is better, smooth and powerful. Nevertheless Zanden used specially selected Philips tubes (SQ) but after 10 years it was time for “renovation”. I am pretty much enjoying!
Honestly Eckart – I wouldn’t use the tubes you just inserted. Get red label Valvo, TFK <> or Siemens & Halske CCa or E88cc from the 1960ies. The Russian / Chinese noval tubes of today may be good on noise-level, but can’t match the colour and micro-harmonics of the old Western Europe Grade A originals.
My 2 cents here …….

you were right Dietrich. The old Valvos, TfKs and Philipps are a jump forward. Unbelievable, the sound is such transparent, soft and somehow strong. Much better than before. Thank you!
