… I visited in San Francisco. With a lot of love regarding good music, with a good understanding of serious audio parts putting together in the best way, with good damping material and paralysing unwanted waves, and with the help of excellent consultants this Audio System is one of the best I have ever seen and listened to in the States:

Magnepan speakers , VTL tubes build the core. Subs from AS and an excellent turntable with wonderful tonearms and carts (AS Palladium) are the source. The pre is a MFA Luminescence, modified and maintained by Scott Frankland, the F of MFA, with MM phono stage, the step up is an AS Syntax. The room is high and wide after the golden ratio, only one window which is to be covered by a curtain.

I enjoyed many good records and btw. as I have been on a touristic trip to California, Oregon, Washington and Canada (Vancouver) I always returned with reaching out to a kind of music audition I did regard as it must be one of the best sounding rooms in San Francisco.

the owner collects fantastic records in Jazz, Rock-Music and Classics. He knows a lot about famous old & young artists. We did visit five good record shops and I was able to bring back some good music. Thanks a lot.

in the end it was a marvellous adventurous trip with lots of insights into landscapes, friends and music! The records I took with me are “awesome”!
Eckart,
Wonderful post. Who doesn’t like Maggie’s driven by tubes?

Eckart,
I love this post! Great photos, and who doesn’t like Maggie’s powered by tubes? Is that a second platter on the turntable or a platter clamp?
Thank you for sharing.

Norman,
Except of the turntable everything else is from Acoustical Systems, also the platter clamp with a fixing pressure system.
Tonearms and two Palladians (Stereo and Mono). I’ll try to find out which brand the table is!
Best
