nearly 70 years ago this record „After work“ was put together in the old studio of Rudy van Gelder in Haubensak. If you are in the old masters you will love it, esp. Mal Waldron and Kenny Burrell.

Kevin Gray brought back the old master tapes into high quality sound. Superb how Frank Wess plays his teno sax on the 2nd side and Kenny …😉. You feel like being in a jazz club the guys playing in front you.

Also this remaster of Wal Maldron is fascinating.

Some of my friends do not like the quality of the sound as do people on Disc Cog as well. My Number is terribly good and the quality is superb. Maybe different masters and pressings did happen?
